D3 Leaders

Our Boards serve as the platform and mission base for D3

 

Advisory Board

Serves as the docket for education, political history, constitutionality and action.  They will advise and work directly with the Working Board.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Act as the education facilitation board “steering” the ship in terms of activism goals and philosophy   
  • Thorough research on political history and will work “behind the scenes”
  • Meet monthly to establish focus points and key actions and will advise Working Board
  • Host educational forums and mediation discourse and debate
 

Working Board

The main role is a platform for management and promotion of Indivisible D3 as well as for establishing a forum for other Indivisible groups to participate.  We are a collaborative and collective voice of the people and work closely with all teams so that we may quickly and rapidly move our agenda across the state.  

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Administrators on the website and social media pages
  • Facilitate DAILY actions through a networking list
  • Provide outreach to other local and national Indivisible Groups
  • Promotion of this platform to help organize and facilitate more local Indivisible Groups around the state and nation
  • Oversee monthly meetings
  • General administration oversight
 

Treasury Board

Administration of finances for this non-profit organization. They will work directly with the Working Board.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Set up Indivisible D3 as Non Profit Organization
  • Managing Bank Transactions
  • Managing Accounting & Reporting to IRS

Organizing Committees

To engage in persistent action requires organizational planning, effective communication and correspondence between the boards, committees and policy trackers. The Organizing Committees have the important job of organizing multiple groups, planning events, facilitating action and upholding the mission and actions of the Boards.

 

Action Committee

This team is the main point of contact between the Working Board and Policy Trackers.  They have the important task of moving each group in a progressive forward motion. AC works with each team group leader(s) on weekly focus points, helps answer questions, moves actions forward and will be the main communication link between working board and teams.  AC members will compile weekly updates to submit to Working Board for action plans and education..

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • To facilitate and help direct the groups to reach and attain goals
  • Communicate with each team’s leader(s) regularly
  • Compile weekly team summaries to be submitted to the Working Board
  • Current or prior management or leadership roles a plus
  • Organization, communication and efficiency skills a plus
 

Event Planning, Fundraising & Volunteer Coordination

Ranging from small gatherings to large events, members will work with board and other teams to help organize and plan high caliber/high impact events ranging from cold calling to larger fundraising events such as concerts, educational forums, art shows, etc.  For larger events we will need to organize, collect, and facilitate the volunteers needed prior and during events.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Organizational event planning
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Prior skills or careers in event planning, promotion and solicitation a plus
  • Being able to organize and facilitate large groups of people
  • Email coordination and organization
  • Rapid response to problem solving

Resource Teams

Work to understand policy requires research, data collection, education and organization. Our Resource Teams work with D3 Policy Trackers to share information, data, and methodology to quickly and effectively reach goals. 

 

Legislature Tracking at the Local, State and National Levels

We want to know the who, what, where, when and why of our congressional representatives.  Using apps such as “Countable” to stay current on their latest policy voting and whereabouts so that the entire group can be informed and highly effective in our demands and actions.  This group will work closely with the Policy Trackers to stay up to date and efficient in their actions.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Create organized lists of Colorado congress people, including contacts, people who work for them secretaries, phone numbers, emails, planners etc.
  • Organize trips to town hall meetings, state legislative offices and beyond
  • Set platforms for the whereabouts of congress people and work to demand meetings and town halls in D3
  • Work with Event Planning Committee
 

Bridging the Gap - Promoting Communication in Polarized Times

This team will open the door to communication and will bridge the gap through effective and quality communication and understanding.  Team will develop outreach strategies to constituents missing from these conversations such as millennials, moderates, conservatives, rural area locals, various ethnic/religious populations, etc.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Research political communication and how to bridge the gap
  • Facilitate public discussions and host education/training forums
  • Work to educate those not reached easily
  • Current or prior work in communication, psychology, and/or mediation a plus
  • Fluent Spanish Speaking a plus
  • Support Policy trackers in the art of having political conversations
  • Build trust, find common ground and strengthen relationships
  • Improve the understanding of how policy issues can bring us together for specific policy advocacy

Policy Trackers

Policy Trackers work on specific areas of interest to create actions and find the most productive and effective way to stand up for the policies at risk. The main goal of the Policy Trackers is to get the public involved through education, action and support.  We encourage each group to be inclusive in their thoughts, and use SAUCE (stewardship, action, unity, communication and education) as a base for movement.  Each Policy Tracker Team will have TWO leaders that will be the voice for their group and will communicate with the AC.  They will be in charge of providing updates to the AC regarding the on goings in their group.  A list of team leaders will be maintained so that groups can work together most efficiently.  

 

Environment

This team will work on ways to protect, preserve and advocate for the environment and the sciences.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Seek out local and national environmental advocacy groups- work with them on ways to help resist any new outstanding issues regarding environment
  • Find new avenues for environmental advocacy
  • Education on congressional and presidential policies
  • Work with local and regional experts
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
 

Science

Working to preserve the foundational efforts of science based studies and educational research.

Skill Set and Tasks

  • Educate on latest science research specifically related to environment
  • Advocacy for sciences and scientific studies
  • Work with Local and Regional experts

Public Education

Focus attention on public education and government policies that may or will affect this branch.

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Research any pending actions taken on the public schools locally and nationwide
  • Take action where and when necessary in the form of petitions, rallies, educational forums and effective service
  • Connect with local public school officials and teacher around the district, state and nation
  • Public school background or current position holding a plus
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
 

Civil Rights

Protection of individuals from the infringement of the government and discrimination.

Skills Sets and Tasks:

  • Maintain close working ties with local and national advocacy organizations
  • Take action where and when necessary in the form of petitions, rallies, D3 trainings and service
  • Civil Rights advocacy experience a plus
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
 

Women's Rights

Advocacy and fight for the basic entitlements for women that may be at risk from the suppression and/or legal changes made by this administration.

Skills Sets and Tasks:

  • Maintain close working ties with local and national advocacy organizations
  • Take action where and when necessary in the form of petitions, rallies, D3 trainings and service
  • Women’s Rights advocacy experience a plus
  • Stay current on policy changes and directives coming from the administration
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
 

Healthcare Reform

Updated policy tracking and diligent fight to protect and preserve the right for health care for all.

Skills Sets and Tasks:

  • Maintain close working ties with local and national advocacy organizations
  • Take action where and when necessary in the form of petitions, rallies, D3 trainings and service
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
 

Immigration Reform

Policy tracking and action to stand up for the rights of immigrants on a local, regional and national level

Skill Set and Tasks:

  • Maintain close working ties with local and national citizenship and immigration service agencies
  • Take action where and when necessary in the form of petitions, rallies, D3 trainings and service
  • Immigration Law or work in the field a plus
  • Stay current on immigration issues and policy coming from the administration
  • Report findings at D3 meetings
