Monday's D3 Daily Action: Tell Scott Tipton and Cory Gardner Climate Change is Real

As Americans reel from the most extreme rain hurricane events in U.S. history, Colorado Senator Cory Gardner and Colorado District 3 Representative Scott Tipton refuse to acknowledge man-made climate change.

In an interview with ThinkProgress, Scott Tipton (R-CO) conceded that climate change exists, but argued that it’s caused by natural climate cycles rather than humans. “Here in the state of Colorado as our tree rings demonstrate, we’ve had droughts long before there were very many people here,” the Tea Party freshman argued. Acknowledging that humans can affect the climate is futile because it would “divide America,” said Tipton.

While running for his Senate seat, Senator Cory Gardner refused to answer a yes or no question on whether humans are causing climate change. Insisting the response would be too complicated, he told a (reportedly) pro-Democratic crowd that, "I believe that the climate is changing, I disagree to the extent that it's been in the news."
