Oppose "No Sanctuary for Criminals Act," H.R. 3003 & "Kate’s Law," H.R. 3004 – Call Representative Tipton – Please call first thing this morning - VOTE HAPPENS TODAY!
Today, the House is voting on two anti-immigrant bills aimed at implementing Trump’s mass deportation agenda. The laws—called “No Sanctuary for Criminals Act” and “Kate’s Law”—would undercut local law enforcement’s ability to keep our communities safe, jeopardize national security, and give the Trump administration even more unchecked authority to apprehend, detain, and deport immigrants. Final votes are scheduled today on these bills!
With Health Care on the table, this is slipping under the radar...
Call Representative Tipton and tell him to VOTE NO on "No Sanctuary for Criminals Act," H.R. 3003 & "Kate’s Law," H.R. 3004.
Lorella Praeli, the director of immigration policy at the American Civil Liberties Union, criticized the bills, saying they were “riddled with constitutional violations that completely disregard the civil and human rights of immigrants...Despite claims to the contrary, Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act will make our communities less safe by undermining the trust that law enforcement builds with its communities — citizen and immigrant alike.” - PBS
The National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) has joined more than 400 organizations in sending a letter to Congress opposing the bills and calling on elected officials to reject such nonsensical and harmful legislation. In the face of hateful rhetoric, now is the time to stand with immigrant communities.
