Pueblo, Durango, and the Western Slope are mobilizing. Are you?

A Final Votes comes Thursday or Friday. Call key swing Senators NOW.

Dozens of citizens stood up this week to make their opposition to the tax scam bill in the Senate heard loud and clear. They visited Members of Congress' offices, rallied, flooded local press with letters to the editor and news stories, and sparked friends and family across the Western Slope and Southern Colorado to fight back.

This week, Trump appeared on Capitol Hill and showered promises of concessions on key moderate skeptics of the Senate's tax bill. But the core giveaways to the megarich and big corporations, hidden tax increases on working families, and the deficit-busting social-program-imperiling approach remain. Provisions like allowing megachurches to spend in elections, gutting the Affordable Care Act, and drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge remain. If passed, the Senate bill will head to reconciliation committee to be blended with its far more aggressive House cousin. Yesterday, the New York Times blasted the bill in a new editorial

Use the sample call script below to ring the offices of key swing Senators ASAP!

Hello! Good morning/afternoon. My name is ________ and I’m calling from _____.
There’s something important I want to talk to you about.
I work hard for a living / or worked hard if retired. I've worked as a ______, _____, _______ etc. And I payed my fair share of taxes because I believe in this country and I believe in programs like Social Security, Medicare, and _________ . I believe that the tax bill in the Senate now, the “Tax Cut and Jobs Act” is a _________ (slap in the face / betrayal / etc.) of Americans like me.
Trillion dollar giveaways to the very rich are not what makes this country strong and something we can be proud of. Funding cuts for wealthy campaign donors on the backs of working people isn’t something we can proud of. And increasing our deficit by more than $1.5T to pay for this scheme is irresponsible.
* additional comments here*
I’m calling to ask Senator _____ to do the right thing and vote NO on the Tax Cut and Jobs Act for the strength and prosperity of our country, and for generations of Americans to come.

Stay Strong America.
